There is was again. That small, hacking cough.
Oreo turned from her place at the window and looked at her friend in concern. "Spark, are you sure you're alright?"
The Emolga, who was currently sitting at the table sifting through some papers, sighed. "Oreo, I've told you again and again, I'm fi--." She was cut off abruptly by another cough, and threw her paws over her mouth in an attempt to stifle it. Oreo watched her for a few moments more before turning back to peer out at the icy landscape outside.
The snow had been falling for days, bringing with it a freezing cold. And it was all because of that Kyurem. Now that PK had an ice dragon at her beck and call, what would happen to Tao Village? What were they thinking, the Guild leaders? What can be gained from summoning legendary dragons that might bring more destruction than good?
Oreo's thoughts were interrupted by another cough from Spark, sounding worse than last time. She peered more closely at her partner. While Spark seemed to be reading a notice that Shroomsworth had sent out, her eyes were distant and her paws trembled as she gripped the paper. Walking over to the table, Oreo placed a paw on the Emolga's forehead and immediately recoiled from the heat she felt radiating off of her.
"Spark! You're burning up!"
Dragging the weakly protesting Emolga off her chair, Oreo pulled Spark into her room and helped her onto the bed. Even in the darkness Oreo could see the fever building up on Spark's face. She pulled the covers over the Emolga, doing her best to make her comfortable. "Wait here, I'll be right back."
Bustling out of the room, Oreo pulled a few Aspear berries off the shelves and busied herself making a little concoction for Spark to drink. When she finished, she hurried back to the Emolga's side. "Here, Spark... this will make you feel a little better."
Spark smiled weakly as the Minccino spoon-fed her the mixture. "Thanks a lot, Oreo."
"It's the least I can do." Scraping out the last of the Aspear berry mixture, she fed it to to Spark, who sighed and turned sideways, soon falling asleep. Tiptoeing out of the room, Oreo slumped against the wall and buried her face in her paws. The Aspear berries wouldn't be enough... what Spark needed was real medicine. But PK didn't sell any of that, and last time she checked the doctors' stores had ran out...Oh, what am I going to do?
